FMT APP Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
FMT APP is the church app of Flagstaff Mission Tabernacle in Flagstaff, Arizona (“the church,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. The app is provided free for our congregation. It has no advertising, and we never sell or rent anyone’s information.
What the app does not collect
The app does not ask for or collect your email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or payment information. There are no user accounts or passwords. The app does not contain advertising or tracking, and it does not use third-party analytics.
Information the app uses
Device registration. When you enter the church code the first time, the app registers your device with the church’s server using a randomly generated device identifier. The server also stores the type of device (Android, iPhone/iPad, or web), when the app was last used, and whether notifications are turned on. This identifier is not connected to your name, and it is used only to let the app work and to send notifications.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, your device receives a notification address (a “push token”) from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, and the app sends it to the church’s server so we can deliver prayer request, announcement, and urgent notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app’s Settings or in your device’s settings.
Things you choose to share. When you post a prayer request, an update, a comment, or a reaction, the app stores what you wrote along with the name you entered. You may post a prayer request without your name, in which case it appears as “Anonymous.” Everything you post is visible to other members of the congregation who use the app. If you report a post, the report and the post it concerns are shown to the church’s app administrators.
Information saved on your device. The app saves some information on your own device so it opens quickly and works offline, including recent announcements, the calendar, prayer requests, the weekly bulletin, sermon notes you have opened, the name you entered, and your text size and appearance choices. This stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
How the information is used
We use this information only to run the app for our congregation: to show prayer requests, announcements, the calendar, and media; to send notifications you have allowed; and to let our app administrators keep the app safe and appropriate, for example by removing posts or blocking a device that misuses the app.
Where information is stored
Information from the app is stored on the church’s website server in the United States. Only the church’s app administrators can manage it.
Services from other companies
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers notifications to your device. It receives your device’s push token and the text of each notification. See Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
YouTube plays the sermon and music videos in the app, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect information according to its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Apple and Google may collect information about app downloads and crashes according to their own policies and the settings on your device.
How long information is kept
Prayer requests are shown in the app for 60 days and then no longer appear. You can delete your own prayer requests, updates, and comments at any time from within the app, and app administrators may remove any post. If you would like the information connected to your device removed from the church’s server, contact us as described below.
Children
The app is intended for members of our congregation and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has posted personal information in the app, please contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
- Post prayer requests anonymously if you prefer.
- Delete your own posts at any time.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app’s Settings.
- Delete the app to remove everything saved on your device.
- Ask us to remove the information connected to your device from our server.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app uses information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
